“What is a Death Doula?”

This 90-minute course is available for 1.5 CEUs through the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois. It’s also a great session if you’re a caregiver, patient, or curious participant. I will provide information about my work and role as a practicing death doula and educator. We’ll also discuss how death doulas reduce fears and support care teams so that dying people can experience a more peaceful death.

Upon completion of this program, you will:

∙ Understand the general role that death doulas play in our community.

∙ Identify some of the many services we provide and we’ll also talk about services that doulas do not provide.

∙ Recognize the ways that death doulas reduce end-of-life fears and anxiety.

∙ Learn how death doulas work with therapists and others to support clients in transition.
