Description: This program will provide information about the history of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. We will examine how this annual holiday helps us honor the dead in healthy, loving, meaningful ways.

Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

∙ Understand the history of the Day of the Dead and how it began with a very real, human desire to understand grief and honor the dead.

∙ Recognize the importance of its traditions throughout the years.

∙ Identify religious and cultural rituals around Día de los Muertos.

∙ Understand the different ways that people observe Día de los Muertos.

∙ Recognize the mental health benefits of celebrating those who have died and normalizing the conversation around death and dying.
